I read somewhere that Stranger Things features the elderly. That isn't entirely accurate, but it does give away a little bit of what it's about. It is a series by the Duffer brothers, who also conceived and created Stranger Things. And yes, there are certainly parallels. The fact that monsters appear in it is no surprise; that is already evident from the prologue of the first episode. And the dirt bikes have been swapped for golf carts.

The atmosphere, however, is completely different. Precisely because this involves a group of older people confronted with strange things. They deal with this somewhat differently than a group of children. And the setting is a kind of super retirement home where absolutely everything is arranged and possible for the target group. It seems like heaven for these people, but you soon notice that there are rough edges and not everything is as it seems.

I think it is a good and mysterious series with a cast of seasoned and talented actors. The story has a consistent internal logic, so even though it is about monsters, it is easy to follow and at times quite exciting.
The story is actually concluded completely and well. If there isn't a second season, I'm at peace with that. Right at the very end, a very small opening is given for a sequel, but as mentioned, there are really no loose ends left.

Fun to watch and great for binge-watching with 8 episodes between 40 and 50 minutes. Go check it out :-)
