I just watched the first episode. Yes, it certainly helps if you know some background of the John Wick universe. If you know what The Continental is, the High Table and who Winston Scott is in the films, you will understand some things better. There are also some characters who are also in the films, such as Charon. But even without that knowledge, I think the series is very enjoyable. Only here and there you will not immediately understand what it is about.

Any series in which Black Sabbath music is used, even if it is in the end credits, is automatically +1 for me :-) After the first episode I can only say that I am very curious to see what happens next. I'm impressed with how it looks and the stunts. I had my reservations about a film in the John Wick universe without John Wick, but I'm convinced. That can certainly work. See this series.

This is a clear candidate for miniseries of the year 2023! The last episode didn't disappoint either. Wonderful over the top John Wick-like action. Yes, this is a successful spin-off. There is room for a sequel, but it is actually not necessary. The story is told (well).
