
Still coming to terms with the death of his mother, Prince William is returning to Eton amid growing attention from young female fans touched by his fate. The struggle to readjust leads to tensions with his family, who try to support another young heir to navigate the system and the world.
Later, when Prince William takes his place at St Andrew's University, the pervasive conflict of life as a civil servant continues. He tries to balance the traditional rites of passage for students with the limitations of his position and the constant presence of personal protectors. His perseverance is tested when he falls in love with one of the most desirable students on campus: a woman named Kate Middleton. Meanwhile, Princess Margaret suffers a stroke and is suddenly forced to rethink her lifestyle.
Imelda Staunton, Dominic West and Jonathan Pryce will continue to star, while newcomers Ed McVey and Luther Ford will take on the duties of William and Harry and Middleton will be played by another new face, Meg Bellamy.
Episodes begin on Thursday, December 14, bringing Peter Morgan's BAFTA-winning saga to an end. The first batch of episodes of season six was not without controversy, especially generating headlines over Diana's death scenes. Last Friday, the Queen's former press secretary described the sixth season as "dramatic license gone bonkers".
