More revealed about actors in HBO drama series The Gilded Age

Harry Richardson (Poldark), Thomas Cocquerel (Love Child) and Jack Gilpin (Billions) join the cast of HBO drama series The Gilded Age by Julian Fellowes.
The project is a co-production between HBO and Universal TV. The fictional epic is about millionaires in New York City in the post-1880s. Other actors in the series are Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Amanda Peet, Morgan Spector, Denée Benton, Louisa Jacobson, Taissa Farmiga, Blake Ritson and Simon Jones.

The Gilded Age is about a period of immense economic change in America: the emergence of inequality between old and new money. Against this background of change, the story begins in 1882 with the introduction of the young Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson), the orphan daughter of a southern general who moves to the home of her tightly conventional aunts in New York City. Accompanied by the mysterious Peggy Scott (Denée Benton) - an African-American woman posing as her maid - Marian becomes entangled in the dazzling life of her incredibly rich neighbors, led by a relentless railroad magnate and his ambitious wife. Will Marian follow the established rules of society or pave her own way in this world that is about to transform into modern times?

Harry Richardson

Harry Richardson portrays Larry Russell. Larry is a recently graduated Harvard student who still has to find his way in the world. Above all, Larry is his mother's child, her Achilles heel, the only person she loves indefinitely. And he loves her too. He protects his little sister, Gladys, and like her, he is a classic child of the rich. He thinks he doesn't care about money, because he's always had enough.

Thomas Cocquerel

Thomas Cocquerel portrays Tom Raikes, a wise young lawyer from Doylestown, PA. He is a lonely and career-driven man, but is emotional when he meets Marian (Louisa Jacobson), the orphan daughter of his deceased client. He moves to New York City to have a relationship with her. Tom understands that Marian's family - especially her two aunts - is very conservative and he makes sure that he does not cross borders along the way. He will fight to get what he wants, but he is above all an attractive, charming gentleman.

Jack Gilpin

Jack Gilpin portrays Church, the butler of the Russell family. He is American, with a bleak background, but escapes his past by excelling in his work. He has no time for nonsense in the workplace because of his attention and care for his work. Above all, he is Bertha's ally, and he intends to remain fairly loyal to her at every step.

HBO has not yet announced when The Gilded Age will release.
