The Americans is een Amerikaanse spionage misdaadserie van de zender FX. De serie ging in première op 30 januari 2013.
The Americans speelt zich af op het hoogtepunt van de Koude Oorlog in de jaren 80. Elizabeth en Philip Jennings zijn twee Russische KGB-agenten die zich voordoen als een Amerikaans getrouwd stel in de buitenwijken van Washington DC. Vooralsnog hebben zelfs hun eigen kinderen geen idee van hun ware achtergrond, net als hun buurman Stan Beeman, een agent bij de eenheid contraspionage van de FBI.

It couldn't get me. Stopped after the sixth episode. It's all too slow for me, a little too little action where you expect it. I always love when the end of an episode makes me want to see the next one and I didn't with this one.

Just started this series and really enjoy it! It takes some getting used to that it takes place in the past, because you wonder whether some things could still be done now. Especially considering today's technology. Personally I expected a bit more action/thriller and sometimes the stories are a bit too long-winded.

Nice, but 'exciting' series. Do not miss for a second the modern techniques such as computer, mobile etc. Only you can sometimes, really very well, see that they are disguised and the story goes all the way. ) - (And Paige..pff .. annoying little girl, I think.) -

For the people who don't follow The Americans on the internet but want to see it on TV, I have good news. Saw in my TV guide that this series will be broadcast on Belgium 2 (Canvas) from next Friday. I'll definitely check it out, looks like a great series.

Season 1 is finished, and will I watch season 2? Don't think so... It was all too easy, too casual, too natural and almost not exciting or compelling. Each episode had to have 2 or three bed scenes to supposedly keep it daring. Only emotional highlight was the drunken neighbor in episode 11, otherwise it was numb and flat. Average series for an RTL5.
