Daniel Gillies ready for leading part in The Originals

Fans that miss Elijah a lot in The Vampire Diaries, can start praying the spin-off of The Vampire Diaries will indeed happen.

Daniel Gillies is ready to star in The Originals, next to Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin, which will be introduced trough a potential backdoor pilot in the 25th of April episode.

All three will reprise their original roles from The Vampire Diaries. The formula will still be the same formula of The Vampire Diaries, two brothers and a girl. The only difference is that Hayley (Tonkin) is not the ordinary teenage girl, being a werewolf and all.

Besides his role in The Vampire Diaries (since the second season), Gillies will also be playing a part in the medical drama Saving Hope. If The Originals will indeed become a series, he will star in both shows.
