That is downright annoying. Series is, in fact, open-ended. If I knew that plus that there will be no second season, I wouldn't start it either. On the other hand, I should have known: series is set in Ned. broadcast by 13thstreet. This only happens if one does not believe in series.

Beautiful first episode, there is indeed a Spielberg flavor to it. Reminds a bit of the series "Taken", but is completely different, although the Alien theme is well in it.
