The Boys spin-off Vought Rising adds four actors to cast

The Boys prequel series, Prime Video's Vought Rising, has cast four new actors in series regular roles: Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.
Vought Rising, which begins production later this month, is set in the 1950s and is described as a “dark murder mystery about the origins of the sinister Vought International.” It focuses on the early days of Soldier Boy and the rise of Stormfront, then known as Clara Vought.

Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash return as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, and also serve as series producers. The characters share a common origin: both are experiments by Frederick Vought, with Soldier Boy being the first American superbeing without the aging effect, created during World War II. Stormfront was Vought's first successful test of Compound V and later married him.

The series is being developed under the direction of Paul Grellong (executive producer of The Boys), who also serves as showrunner. The series is created by Eric Kripke, with whom Grellong also collaborated on the original series.

Jorden Myrie has previously appeared in BBC's Sherwood (2022) and Netflix hit Bridgerton, among others. Nicolo Pasetti had roles in other Netflix hits, The Queen's Gambit, and HBO's Industry. Ricky Staffieri has a recurring role as Theodore Fak on Hulu's The Bear and has previously guest-starred on shows like Better Call Saul (AMC) and This Is Us (NBC). Brian J. Smith is known for his role as Will Gorski on Sense8 (Netflix) and as Lieutenant Matthew Scott on SGU Stargate Universe (SyFy).

This prequel promises an interesting new take on The Boys universe. The 1950s setting and the murder mystery surrounding the young Soldier Boy and Stormfront create ample opportunities for dark twists and political intrigue. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are reprising their roles, and the glimpse into Vought's early history could further enrich the story.

This could be really fun. I'm already a fan of both Soldier Boy and Stormfront, so I'm looking forward to seeing them together. And Vought's origin story seems really interesting too. I'm also really curious to see which other superheroes will show up.
It will take some getting used to not having Homelander's sinister shadow constantly present, but who knows what bad guy they'll pull out of their hat next.
