Banshee renewed with second season

Alan Ball’s Banshee has been renewed for a second season by Cinemax, said Kary Antholis today.
The show first aired on the 11th of January. It attracted 483 thousand viewers on the night of its premiere and another 235 thousand viewers with the reruns.

Anthony Starr stars as a previously convicted master thief who takes on the identity of the sheriff of Banshee. As the sheriff, he has to provide justice to the people of Banshee, but, simultaneously, he abuses his position to continue his criminal activities.

Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison, Hoon Lee, and Rus Blackwell have also landed a role on the show.
The first season was written by Tropper and Schickler, however, for this second season the show has got new writers on board; John Romano, Evan Dunsky, and Doug Jung will be added to the writers’ team for the second season.
