The Missing spin-off sees the return of the insightful but stubborn detective Julien Baptiste written by Harry and Jack Williams
Baptiste will take place in Amsterdam and follow Julien and his wife on a visit to the Netherlands. While there, the couple's trip is interrupted when the Chief of Police (an old girlfriend, coincidentally) seeks out Baptiste's help on a case and the detective finds himself drawn into an investigation that exposes the seedy underworld of Amsterdam beneath the idyllic streets and canals.

Murder and prostitution case in Amsterdam with International cast. Europol cooperates with various police forces. But certainly not convincing. Many Belgian actors are commissioners and detectives at the Amsterdam Police, which seemed unlikely to me. Bit of an exaggerated story, edited in a jagged way. Not good.

I find the series very disappointing. If Karyu had help from actors such as David Morrissey, James Nesbitt and Laura Fraser in The Missing, he is all alone in Baptiste. The rest of the cast is mediocre at best and then also let Belgian actors with accent pass as Amsterdam agents :-( The BBC has cut back considerably on this.
