Jessica Jones is een superheld. Door een tragedie heeft zij al vroegtijdig dat leven vaarwel moeten zeggen. Jessica is echter op de weg terug en begint ook weer orde op zaken te stellen in haar privéleven. Daarnaast is zij werkzaam als privé-detective. Jessica wordt geplaagd door zelfhaat en PTSS, maar dat weerhoudt haar er niet van om te vechten tegen haar innerlijke demonen. Haar gave wendt zij dan nu ook aan om degenen die dat het hardst nodig hebben te ondersteunen... vooral als zij bereid zijn om haar daar een aardig zakcentje voor te betalen.
