The Following is een Amerikaanse dramaserie van de zender Fox. De serie ging op 21 januari 2013 in première.
De beruchte seriemoordenaar Joe Carroll is ontsnapt uit de gevangenis en begint aan een nieuwe moorden, de FBI roept agent Ryan Hardy op om de zaak op te lossen. Hardy was verantwoordelijk voor het vastleggen van Carroll negen jaar geleden. Hardy kent hem beter dan wie dan ook. Maar de Ryan Hardy die Carroll oppakte jaren geleden is niet dezelfde man als vandaag. Hij is zowel fysiek als mentaal veranderd door het vorige nastreven van deze seriemoordenaar.

x-on:Roeman: Unfortunately I can't drop the series just yet as I have six more episodes to recap until the season ends. So I'll be stuck with that for the next few weeks. And I think you're mistaken. I think the Americans are a gem. I think that is one of the best, if not the best, new series of this year. I'd take a look at that if I were you. In terms of character development, small details, script and (especially) acting, it is definitely a better series than The Walking Dead.

Vevie, I've seen AHS up to episode 5 (I've also seen BatB and OuaT episodes) and then I had enough. The plot is so clear and the characters, script and dialogue, well you gotta love it, I still think they got the name wrong. There's nothing scary about it at all. But series here too remain a matter of taste. I know people who don't like Sherlock at all. I personally find that incomprehensible, but it is a fact. That has everything to do with taste. Fortunately, but otherwise everyone would look at the same thing and then we would have nothing to choose ;-)

Such reactions are also best; you better give something a fair chance before writing it off right away. What does apply to The Following is whether you think it's a good or bad series, you can't deny that it's very unbelievable, unrealistic and illogical. This second season is horrible again and I still think it's a shame that Kevin Bacon is ruining his reputation with this series, but I'm watching it anyway.
