The Following is een Amerikaanse dramaserie van de zender Fox. De serie ging op 21 januari 2013 in première.
De beruchte seriemoordenaar Joe Carroll is ontsnapt uit de gevangenis en begint aan een nieuwe moorden, de FBI roept agent Ryan Hardy op om de zaak op te lossen. Hardy was verantwoordelijk voor het vastleggen van Carroll negen jaar geleden. Hardy kent hem beter dan wie dan ook. Maar de Ryan Hardy die Carroll oppakte jaren geleden is niet dezelfde man als vandaag. Hij is zowel fysiek als mentaal veranderd door het vorige nastreven van deze seriemoordenaar.

I found in season 1 that too often there was a "follower" and that happened to be someone she was working with. Happened a little too often for me which made the episodes predictable. I too caught myself flushing regularly and realized I hadn't even missed that much. I know it's a TV series, but I still hope that the storyline will become a little tighter and more believable in season 2. Nevertheless, the series has a pretty dark character and does not allow itself to be tempted to a standard concept. Despite the somewhat critical note on my part, I'll give season 2 a chance anyway.

After watching the 5th episode now, I don't know if I'm going to watch the rest. I find the series so slow ... I sometimes fast forward and that is not a good sign for me. Always the same ... man frustrated, child missing and among a number of so-called serial killers who have a pact..... how many more episodes will that last?

A retarded misproduct. 8 episodes sit in the illusion that the next episode will have something interesting to offer but unfortunately .. Storyline is totally unbelievable, the script is messy and illogical, elaboration and actors are cringingly bad. The motive of the so-called deranged professor is unknown, just like the motives of the followers and character development is out of the question, neither of the main characters, nor of other characters. What then remains is nothing more than a series of scenes one after the other.

Series gets worse every week. How is it possible that Kevin Bacon connected his name to this. Even as a guilty pleasure, the series is a tough one. Extremely disappointing and this is also one of the most disappointing new series this year.

x-on:Vevie, I get that, some people then say: "Didn't like it." But they can't say what they didn't like about it. I have noticed that once you start writing reviews, you start looking at series differently "But I do understand your aversion to The Following, especially if you are obliged to watch it. I watch it voluntarily and can stop whenever I want. But whether I will follow season 2 is still a question for me. I prefer to watch Dexter , Bates Motel, Sherlock, TWD etc....

I am not at all dissatisfied with Season 3 so far. Also nice that a few things are varied came storyline. Really nothing to criticize. The same goes for the actors / actresses.

I'm getting a little tired of "the bad guys" always getting away... How stupid can you be as an FBI?! It is, I'm afraid, another series that will have many seasons to come, there are always and somewhere new "followers" who may or may not play their own sick games. I'll probably continue to follow season 2, but I'm afraid I won't pull a 3 anymore.

Typical case of: "What just hit me? A truck called The Following". Wow what a great first episode, can't wait for the rest. You are immediately sucked into the story, the actors convince and the action is bang on. Hope there are many more episodes to come.

Hi Vevie, I get that you say that, but I personally don't think it's that bad. But I did have this sentiment with Beauty and the Beast, American Horror Story and Once upon a time. As a series enthusiast you are always looking for those little gems that you really stay home for and so far we don't really have such a gem at the moment, in my humble opinion (except TWD which is almost finished). But there are a few more coming that might be/become that. Hannibal, Bates Motel, Under the Dome. And luckily there are 3 new episodes of Sherlock coming in September as well as the last series of Dexter and hopefully they will air Revenge again soon. So I'd say just drop The Following that saves a lot of agonizing annoyance ;-).
